Those of you expecting a “Battle Royale” response to Betty Pleasant’s column last week will be disappointed. Betty is my 25 year friend and is entitled to disagree with my opinion any time she wants to. I certainly disagree with hers as much as I agree. The love I have for her won’t dissipate because she calls an argument stupid, though she’s been in her share of stupid arguments over the years, and it could be disturbing that one who writes the most impolitic commentary west of the Mississippi would be shocked over someone’s else’s impolitic commentary. Why Is Republican Nominee’s Pick of Paul Ryan Worse
The picture is complete and the match-up for this year’s Presidential elections have been set. The “presumptive nominee” of the Republican Party, Gov. Mitt Romney, selected Wisconsin House Representative, Paul Ryan, to be his Vice Presidential running mate. So, it will be Obama and Biden versus Romney and Ryan. Could it get more interesting? Yes, it could…but it is what it is. There is no sophistication to the politics here. Republicans are still stuck on stupid and they plan on running it into the ground. Voter Suppression In The 2012 Presidential Elections Will Be Real: Do You Know YOUR States New Voting Laws?
As 2012 elections are now less than 100 days away, more conversation has been given to the massive voter suppression initiative about to take place. As part of a two pronged approach to take back the White House—the other being to relax the campaign contribution laws through the creation of “SuperPACs”—voter suppression strategies basically seek to impede one’s right to vote by creating barriers to discourage voting.
